technically you don't have to get a remap for the cats - you can relocate the sensors to stop the failures coming on.
However with such a drastic change to the exhaust characteristics it'd be silly not to get a remap to really make the most of it.

Remap is definitely on the cards but if I do the mods I've said on this first visit (decoke, gutted pre cats n deflapping) will it still run ok until I go to MRC for the remap n cold air intake :?:
Ps. I was given a mint set of 2x 20mm wheel spacers with longer bolts when I bought the car but you can't fit them with the standard wheel n tyre sizes as they rub but if anybody has a set up they will work with, you can have them for £20 plus postage..

Why not just go to MRC for all of it at the same time?

They have a dyno and can set up the map to suit your car and the mods they have done to it.

Ok ok lol, MRC are good! I'll get some prices from them, should be around the same sort of money as Unit20 I'm guessing?
I know they have a good reputation. I'd love to get it all done in one go but that's going to be expensive so we'll have to get some prices first n go from there..

MRC map is the one - Sport Mode map is blistering. It's a great map. 2 days and several trains to get there and back with mine. Carbon clean essential, really. I had both and a de-flap.

System - I had a JCWeld Fab system - gutted pre cats, valved and retain the two (very good 200 cel) main cats MOT friendly and good noise (with valves it's easy to tone down when you want).

Here's my before and after power thread/exhaust system: http://forum.rs246.com/viewtopic.php?f= ... &hilit=mrc
Gone but never forgotten:
2007 RS4 B7 Saloon, Metallic Silver with SS+.
LED's all round and Dectane LED tailights. KDS detail and paint. Lepsons black chrome, heavy on the silver wheels. JCWeldFab full system - valved and no pre-cats. MRC stage 2, de-flap and full carbon clean - 438PS and 489NM. HEL brake lines. H&R Spacers. Gtechniq C1 and EXO V2 coatings. 2010+ RNS-E. On the MRC dyno: http://youtu.be/y_k0VJ2--y8
