Ok cheers mate, have you done any/all these mods to yours, if so what kind of difference did it make over standard? I'm not really too bothered about silly top end horsepower figures for mine tbh same on my bikes, silly top end figures sound great down the pub but what I'm after is a good fat torque curve with no big dips mate.. :biggrin3:

I'm after a torque boost farther than big top end BRP gains

Just ordered a K&N filter cos the standard one is grubby and I know these filters are good from my bikes.
Next step for me will def be, off to Unit20 for a full decoke, stage 2 remap and quiz them on deflapping the manifold (whatever that is?) poss ditch the standard cats too if that helps.. All suggestions/input great fully received guys
(Will try n get some pics up as soon as it stops bloody raining!)
If you are after power / performance mods, then avoid a cone filter and stick to an aftermarket panel filter (in fact the OEM isn't really bad at all). Most of the supercharged cars use panel filters so if they are good ennough for them then they are fine on NA cars. The cone filters will sound amazing though and if fitted with one of the Revolution carbon intake kits it will look the nuts too, but any extra gain will most likely be offset by heat soak from the engine.

As far as exhausts are concerned there is not a lot to gain with any aftermarket cat-back kit. The biggest gains will be from gutting the pre-cats (400 cell). This will still mean you can pass the MOT without any problems, but will get a little smoke when first started (can't remember if a remap is needed for this, I have a feeling it is not essential). If you replace the standard cats for sports cats then again there is very little to gain as the standard 200 cell cats are very good. Maybe a bit more of a gain from 100 cell cats but sports cats are very costly. Bin the cats altgother for max gain and low cost but this will mean you need a friendly MOT man once a year or go through the hassle of swapping exhaust every time.

Like mike said you won't get a great deal out of most after market exhaust's I would gut pre cats stage 2 inlet manifold from MRC and remap, MRC's map is great, sport and non sport give the car a very different feel, I took my old car to them and was well pleased, de coke is essential while having this done, I also had JHM inlet manifold spacers, not sure they are worth the money, just help things to keep cool when pushing on

Yep, agree on all of the above info from the guys.

I went for gutting the pre-cats which takes them from 400 to 200 cell, as far as I'm aware this does require a re-map and I had a stage 2 done by MRC.

I also had a full carbon clean carried out, MRC said it was one of the cleanest they'd seen! Milltek resonated cat back valved system fitted, cold air feed which is supposed to give more consistent air temps, and for only a couple of hundred quid fitted I went it. Also a new panel air filter.

The car felt great when I bought it, but after the Mods, and especially with the magic "S" button on it was mental!! just what I was after!!

The car went from 397PS prior to carbon clean and Mods, to 447PS after all was said and done!! not a bad 50PS gain there.

Best couple of grand I've ever spent!!!

Also have a think about cosmetic mods, like spacers, wheel colours, carbon, and change of mirror colour just to add that little bit of individuality if you're that way inclined!!

Going down the mods route can be an expensive game so get ready to pound that credit card!!!

Anyway keep us posted on how it all goes!!

P.s. Rusting Stainless Milltek? Really?

Wow, so much help and info, cheers guys! like i said earlier, i'm new to this, straight from bikes (god i miss my S1000RR :( ) But if i had to go "sensible" and get a car i thought a nice clean Audi would fit the bill prefectly :biggrin3: and so far i love it but you can always have a little more power cant you..
I'll be fitting the flat panel K&N filter this week and getting a proper list together for the boys at Unit20 on exactly what im thinking of having done and bouncing options off them too but so far im thinking about full decoke, gutted pre cats, cold air intake, deflapping the inlet manifold, a stage 2 remap and dyno time but thats gonna beet the crap out of my card so i might have to have it all in 2 visits.
I will def keep you all posted on how it goes and let you know dyno figures etc as soon as its done.
Cheers again lads!

Quick update-
Just spoken to Martin at Unit20 and the car will be going into them over the next month for a full decoke, gut the pre cats and deflap the inlet manifolds. thats gonna cost me about £1000 and then i can look forward to a stage2 remap and cold air intake on the next visit (also when i have more cash!) Unit20 dont have a dyno so i'll need to find someone to set it up im guessing? (hopefully nearer to cardiff) i'll post how the car feels after the first lot of mods as soon as its done.

I might go there for the cold air feed and get the remap done at the same time then Mike if they have a dyno..
