Well, I registered a bit ago after reading up on your forums - and you guys now have me completely hooked. Thought it was about time I came in here and said hello to you all!!!

Been looking to buy a new car for a couple months, as my old Passat TDi is kind of beat up (140k miles). Took the new A3 Sportback out (the V6 3.2) and quite enjoyed it, but need more space as I have a wife and 2 young kids.

Now after reading all the stuff you have on here, I have my mind set on an A4 Avant. The question is whether or not I am going to go for an S4 or try and find me a good RS4. The neweer model S4 Avant is nice, but the performance of the RS, as well as it being rare are kind of drawing me in and I don't think I will now settle for anything less.

Taking an RS4 and the S4 saloon (local dealer doesn't have an Avant in at the moment) out lunchtime today for a test, so we shall see which one of them grabs me best

In any case, whichever way I decide, I'll be hanging around the boards for a good while now.

Yeah I'm kind of expecting that

I've been looking about for one - and when I finally did locate one at Fontain someone else who posts on here bought it before I could get over and take a look!!! Still, there are a handful of others for sale, so I just need to find the right one for me. Friend of mine at work has one already and I am insanely jealous!

Wow rapid response on here - wish the recovery services were as quick!!!

Well, glad to see the chap that beat me to the one at Fontain is enjoying the car, rather than some old fart who doesn't appreciate it for what it is!

I would expect to be making a purchase of some form over the next few weeks, just want to make sure I find the right car first.

Well, after my test yesterday I am now addicted to the S and RS models... Boy oh boy did I have fun!

Now I just need to pester my old man to lend me the money I need to buy one. Will of course be on here again to advise once I decide what I am going for.
