Hello and Merry Christmas!

Post by Ikobo » Tue Dec 25, 2012 12:40 pm

Hi all,

was pointed towards the site by a few guys over at Pistonheads as being the best resource for RS info. This was after buying myself a little Christmas present of an '06 RS4 a few days ago, which after a few slight teething troubles i'm absolutely loving. Looking forward to tapping in to all your knowledge where the cars are concerned, though hopefully i'll be having no more issues for a while!

Pics of my car from the dealer, still to take some of my own:

Hats off to the original buyer of the car, he specced it exactly the same as I would have, it has every single extra I wanted on my wish list!

Nice car, do love that Daytona Grey. Never seen contrasting inserts in buckets though; guess it was maybe an option?

Good luck with the car, I'm sure you'll love it. Had ours only 5 weeks and already blown away :D

Hi, thanks. Yes, the seats really do suit the contrasting inserts. They are factory option 'exclusive', and the car also has coloured seat belts to match. The inserts were vailable in silver, red or yellow seemingly. The bolsters on the drivers seat that look a bit worn were replaced after these photos were taken too, so looking much nicer.

Welcome aboard.

Great looking colour, def the fastest for sure ;)

Black optics pack and Exclusive interior are good options.
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar

Yes, the car is lovely looking. Sadly it's going in to Edinburgh Audi for the second time in a week tomorrow though due to the EML coming on for the second time. :(

First time the ignition coils were replaced and the light stayed off for maybe a hundred miles. Christ knows what it will be this time. Not exactly what I was hoping for in my first 9 days of ownership!

Haha, in the first ten days:

Collection day: Delayed collection from dealer until new shock was fitted and DRC re-gassed.
Day two: Engine management light comes on
Day four: Low oil warning (I've done about 500 miles in it since collecting from the dealer at this point)
Day 5: In to Audi and new ignition coil packs fitted, EML cleared
Day 9: EML on again
Day 10: In to Audi again, lambda sensor, knock sensor and engine mount faults. Dealer I bought the car from called, going in for remedial work next week when I get back down south.

Lucky I already love the thing.

Haha, if I wasn't too keen on the car that might have been my train of thought. They're all just minor issues though and will soon be resolved.
