a proud new cock clarkson you numpty

Post by scaghead » Mon Dec 22, 2008 6:32 am

Hello there, just joined hope you are all sound. purchased an rs4 saloon 3months ago after having had m3s before [e36, e46] but thought the new one looked jank,it was a good drive but the 46 is better. i had heard good stuff about the audi but had never driven or owned one before. but from the moment i took it out i wanted it what a lovely machine just class. What is the reliability like and anything i should look out for other than speed cameras. It is going in today to be re-mapped and have pippercross air filter done. cheers

With a sense of humour like that, what were you doing driving BMWs before? :)

Can't comment in detail on the RS 4, having never had one, but can't think what really can go horribly wrong with them apart from keeping an eye out for DRC problems, which you should be able to get sorted under warranty should they hit you. Have a dig in the RS 4 forum for DRC threads and have a read so you know what to look out for.

Hope you keep on enjoying your RS 4, and proving that Clarkson is indeed a numpty who talks out of his bottom.

Only probs is NSF shock & steering rack replaced.

Now 28k & gets better with more miles...still puts a big smile on my face :D

I'm in Gt Bentley Nr Colchester. Maybe meet up sometime.

cheers mac, us essex punters know what colour. Steering rack sounds unusual ? mine is 06 plate with 20k on it. Have you had it re-mapped, just had my one done by amd at lakeside and it is majestic. It went on the rolling road before/after and went from 371 to 409 with better torque as well. is there an RS meet up in the south east at all. cheers jas

Hi Jas, I think there has been a few probs with steering rack. Was fixed promptly by excellent local dealer.

No mods - only other purchase was a set of extra wheels which now have semi slick R888's for the track.

Have met up with some guys in the past, but nothing recent. Maybe we should arrange a SE meet.

Regards,

MAc

hello rtd, i know it sounds crazy, but if you look at some of the previous threads on the BHP issue it is pretty common. So at least when i went over to AMD i was prepared and was not to suprised when they told me.There has been loadsa fellow members on the site saying it is this and it could be that, most of it going straight over me head to be honest.it is a pisser, but it done half go now. it was not slow before to be honest.cheers rtd happy new year
