RNS-E software update

Hi there,

I have an RNS-E in a late 2004 RS6 and would like to update the software to enable it to read a dual layer map DVD. Have any of you done this? Was the laser strong enough to read the dual layer DVDs?

The RNS-E map DVDs have always been dual layer DVDs, from the very earliest SW 0080 released in 2004 (which was what the first RNS-E I bought was running).

Just buy a 2011 map DVD and stick it in, the software update will happen automatically.

Most people that have had problems with their laser have been those that have used copy DVDs and not original ones.

Thanks for that. I've updated and will follow your advice about using a copy!
