Tv tuner enable av?

Hi again,
I didn't want to ask as it should be obvious but I have another simpleton question:
I have installed Nav.tv's NAVAVT av input harness on to the back of the tv tuner. All it is is an extension to the existing 54 pin plug which includes 6 RCA leads with female connectors, two each for right audio, left audio and video.
Now that I have plugged it in I'm at a bit of a loss. As the av signal is being delivered to the head unit via the tuner all I should have to so is point the head at the tuner, select the av input from the tuner and watch / listen. I'd assumed the av options would appear when scrolling through the tv channels but no. Nav.tv say the av inputs should appear in the channel / frequency list.
Do I need to so something with the tuner to get it to see the inputs?
Is it like tv scart where you have to give it a hi/low singal to automatically switch to it?
Confused in my brain.
Anyone any ideas?
Thanks!
