Im a bit of a novice in this area so not sure if im missing something obvious?!?!
also is there firmware updates to do via disc or something? seems like the unit could do with a few little updates?
many thanks

Do you mean the volume of the Bluetooth connect "bong" or the actual phone call volume?

Bluetooth "bong" volume doesn't seem to be adjustable for most people, but some say that changing the power-up volume affects it.

There's definitely no software updates that change it.

Thanks Dave, i can live with the "bong", its the volume when on a call. it is very load. amazingly you can turn it up but not down past a certain point.

to confirm, what do you mean by power up volume? also ive seen a lot of talk about updating the system via a download from the net however can seem to find any instructions or where to download these files from? does anyone have a guide or link to some downloads and instructions?
many thanks.

That's strange, I can turn mine down to inaudibly quiet?

Buried on one of the Engineering Mode screens is a volume setting, which will be used as the power-up volume every time the RNS-E is turned on.

Those are ALL ILLEGAL downloads which breach Audi's copyright - do you trust them? Do you want to turn your RNS-E into a brick? The BEST and SAFEST way to get the latest software is to buy a GENUINE (not a copy) Western Europe 2011 map DVD off eBay.

The latest (and last) software version is 0650, if you have that then you have the latest version - which was released in 2009 IIRC.

Many thanks Dave. I see your point. have asked my dealership if they can give me one. :audibash:
