Bluetooth Module Revisions, what do I need?

Post by DazN » Fri Jun 03, 2011 6:02 pm

Hi,

I am looking to install bluetooth and better iPod functions (Alpine KCE-425i) into my 2007 RS4, however I understand there are several different revisions of the bluetooth modules available, as below.

I have an iPhone 3GS and want to pair this after I've installed, does anybody know what revision of the module I need? There's an "A" on eBay for £50 but I don't think that supports anything? There's also an "M" for double that.

Thanks

Daz

The A is a waste of money as it doesn't suuport phone book or call list sharing.

The usual advice is to go for:

a) the newest you can find, the newest being an 8P1 862 335 (no suffix).
b) one from the correct region.

I've actually found one on eBay that's the latest:-

New Software H41 / 0650 - prod. date 03.2010
Part no : 8P0862335S / AA / -> 8P1 862 335

So I bought it, would rather pay a few £'s extra and get the right one than buy an older unit, spend hours fiting it and find it doesn't work!!

Thanks for the advice tho.
