Can anyone recommend a trickle charger to use when the car is kept in a garage and not used for a few weeks.

Is it possible to get one that doesn't connect via crocodile clips to the battery itself as it's all tucked under the boot floor?  In an ideal world I'm thinking something through the cigarette lighter by not sure if that's even possible?

Any thoughts / tips / advice appreciated.

i wouldnt leave it on charge if your away for too long just incase of a fire issue, from heat build up or charger cutoff failure, you dont want to come back to a burnt car,

when i worked away i had a solar powered trickle charger, but this would be no good as you state its garaged.

Look at the chargers intended for motorhomes (RVs), they are designed to be permanently connected to the battery long term. Won't be cheap though...

That's the sort of thing I meant - the key is this part "They are also ideal if you want to leave the charger switched on for a long period of time, for example to maintain the charge of a battery on a classic car or boat over the winter period".

That tells you they got a proper pulsed trickle charging system and not just a cheap voltage/current profile.

I use a Golf Buggy charger on my Scoob....as recommended by the Battery dealers. They reckoned that this was the better option even when compared to bike & car chargers???

Almost certainly true - as it's designed to be left connected to the battery for long periods.

I use a halfords trickle charger. If im away long term then I will get some one to put it on a week before I return. I use the points under the plenum cover not direct to the battery. All has been fine since. Been using them for years now.
