Any success stories with RNS-E and A2DP Bluetooth stereo?

Post by stu » Thu Oct 28, 2010 1:43 am

Hi, has anyone had any success with RNS-E and A2DP Bluetooth stereo inputs? I've been hunting for days online for a solution but can't find one!

I had a cigarette lighter adapter in my last car but it all looked a bit messy - I don't really want to do that in my shiny new purchase.

I listen to nearly all of my music on Spotify which is a subscription based music service. It's got a great little iPhone app, and the iPhone can stream audio in stereo using the A2DP protocol extremely well.

I'm new to all things Audi so any help is greatly appreciated!! :) Stuart.

Thanks for your quick reply. Have you got it working with your RS4?

I've come across that particular piece of kit on a european site too (kufatec) and nearly ordered it. Then I hit a problem: Audi Music Interface. I don't appear to have it in my car and I don't know if it can be installed. I've tried to find out if the AMI is compatible with my version of RNS-E but haven't found anything positive. Have you heard of anyone adding an AMI in a B7?

I've only had the car a few weeks and it's my first Audi, so I've got a lot to learn. It's a B7 RS4 with the factory fitted RNS-E, 6 CD changer, TV tuner, OEM Bluetooth and phone cradle. I'm never going to use the CD changer or the TV, so it's not the end of the world of they get removed in the process.

No, something I looked at but I went for the Kufatec/Alpine kit because of the ability to play video on the RNSE through it and it being a wired option. For that all you'd lose would be the TV tuner.

I've got an A2DP to RCA interface from connects2 which is connected to the Aux In connection of the RNS-E.

Select the Aux In and you have A2DP stereo audio fro your mobile device.

Thanks PetrolDave, that might well be what I go for. All the A2DP-RCA devices I have come across (including the cigarette lighter one I had in the last car) need power from somewhere. Does your device get power from the RNS-E somehow, or did you have to make something up yourself? Stu.

I suggest you talk to craigb about this as I am sure he can help you or point you in the right direction. He is a member on here so give him a pm ;)

Or you could try phoning the chaps at www.richtersport.co.uk.

Very helpful bunch who I think are the authorised installers for Fiscon.
