RNS/E & iPhone

Post by Bradders » Mon Aug 02, 2010 12:20 pm

Collected my new car last week, and R8 Spyder. Have managed to sync up my iPhone without problem, but there's an annoying "feature" I cannot find a workaround. My contacts on the phone are stored, firstname, surname in that order. When connected, the car is displaying the contacts in reverse order.

Is there a way to change the order back to the phone's own order?

Cheers, Bradders.

Unfortunately there isn't. I have exactly the same frustration.

The fact you've got your contacts displayed is amazing!! Can sync my iPhone but can't see the contacts!

How can I reset the computer to retry synching the phone to the car?

1) What year is your phone module? Only recent versions sync contact information between the RNS-E and the iPhone.

2) Is the phone module correctly coded? Unless it is then it won't sync contact information with your RND-E

Thanks PD,
Not sure about the year or coding, will have to check - how though I don't know.

The BT cradle is brand new as is my 3GS. Does that make any difference?

No, the cradle isn't the bit with the firmware that matters - that's in the module under the left hand front seat.
