DVBT amplifier...? Or better receiver?

Post by tartan_rob » Sun Jul 25, 2010 9:30 pm

I have purchased an Ampire DVBT tuner from Kufatec and when in good reception areas it works great but in med to poor areas the reception can be poor. Anyone got experience of good DVBT amplifiers or better aerials...?

Amplifiers often don't help with DVB - if the problem is multiple reflections of similar amplitude the signal will be stronger but just as difficult to decode.

DVB is an ill thought out bad idea that's being foisted onto us, just like DAB.

Would suggest any tv amp would do the job, best to find one that runs at 12VDC. Just be aware that the power system in a car has some pretty nasty transients present so a normal tv amp may just expire one day.

Something like this may help work out if lack of signal is the problem.
