RE: fitting rnse into b5
You also need to remove the TMC tuner - this converts the CAN bus from Audi into Bosch which the RNS-D needs but which will cause the RNS-E not to be able to communicate with the car.
To connect the Alpine TV tuner you'll need a multimedia adapter, see the Kufatec website.

Not strictly true, this can remain in situ, you can get true CAN signals for the RNSE from elsewhere in the car.You also need to remove the TMC tuner

yes sat nav built into RNS-E
As said you need a multimedia adapter for Alpine, and also a IR eye to control the TV tuner
And you can get CAn signal from instrument cluster, with a bit of re-wiring, and VCDS coding.

But it's shed loads easier to remove the TMC tuner and just join the CAN wires together, than mess around routing wires from the cluster!golfather wrote:Not strictly true, this can remain in situ, you can get true CAN signals for the RNSE from elsewhere in the car.You also need to remove the TMC tuner
