A6 Double Din facia adapter, which one, i'm confused!

Post by GarethRS » Wed Jan 13, 2010 9:58 pm

Hi all,

I'm a tad confused, there seems to be two types of Double Din facia adapters for A6.

1. http://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/connects ... -1210.html

2. http://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/autolead ... 10282.html

Whats the difference, why would I need no.1 ?

Many thanks
Gareth

1. includes the fascia adapters and the mounting cage.

2. is just the fascia adapters.

Hi Dave,

Would I only use option 1 if my new HU didn't have a cage?

Thx

The aftermarket cages tend to assume that you can clip them in around the bezel - which may not be true in Audis (I've never fitted an aftermarket radio to an Audi so I'm guessing there). I'd be tempted to go for 1) and know that you have a cage which will fit.

I think you're probably right Dave, I don't really want my new HU ending up on my lap when I put my foot down, lol

Gareth60 - did you get one of these, my facia stuck out 4-5 mm from the dash once it was in place so I ended up snapping the clips off and now it pushes out all the time..
