Audi Ipod - dealer view

Post by mark758 » Thu Dec 17, 2009 4:56 pm

Hi,

I have a B7 A4 with OE ipod dock in the glovebox and a bag full of plastic fitments.

The dealer tells me the current nano ipods dont fit correctly and I need to get an 'older' generation one to match the age of the car for a proper 'no probs' fitment.

Could anybody let me know what 'generation' 3rd,4th etc Nano would fit please?

Any help much appreciated! cheers.

I have a 3rd Generation iPod Nano 4Gb connected to my B8 A4 Avant and it works perfectly with all the track listings coming up on the display
Audi A4 2.0 TDi Avant - B8 - Brilliant White
Audi RS4 Avant - B9 - Navarro Blue
Audi A6 2.5 TDi Avant - C5 - Atlas Grey (Towing vehicle for my RS2000 and Ifor Williams Trailer)
Ford Escort RS2000 Custom - 1976 - Signal Green

Your B8 has MMI and AMI, the B7 doesn't have either of those.

AMI displays "proper" track and album information from the iPod.

The CD changer port based system on the B7 "reduces" the iPod to 6 virtual CDs of 100 tracks max each and displays NO track or album info on the head unit (although you can get a Dension interface that will display track info on the DIS).
