Indicators

From time to time the indicator 'clicker' unit on my 6 continues to click rapidly after I've cancelled the indicators. Goes at about double speed, sounds like they do if a bulb's gone but the lights don't flash. Anyone else had this?

Normally caused by the indicator relay.

Possibly the hazard switch (incorporates relay) or the indicator stalk itself.

Funny enough - my indicators started playing up this morning on the way in to work. I use the stalk and the indicators flash. But now and again there is a double flash and sometimes the flashing stops completely. It affects both sides but doesnt seems to affect the hazards. I am assuming its not bulb-related as its both sides. Presumably this is the flasher relay too. I have an RS6. Do you know if its a single unit/relay and where it is located?

Mine sometimes does this as well. Is it the relay and if so where is it?

Well it wasn't the indicator relay.......indicator stalk assembly on order, bless that warranty!

It was the indicator switch....all kinds of clicky fizzy noises from the flasher unit, now OK. Glad it was a warranty item as I guess the switch unit is quite expensive.

The stalk for the S3 I did the other day was only £30! Bargain for once!
