Post by xyber » Fri Aug 14, 2009 9:50 pm

Is there a stop button for CDs or to turn the radio off without turning the whole unit off, I can't bloody work it out for some reason

just push the power button and it pauses/mutes. Well it does if your software is above version 100.

Nope - just buy the map DVD (they're often on eBay, but make sure you get an RNS-E one and NOT an MMI one) and shove it in the DVD drive.

If there's newer SW on the map DVD a SW update is automatically carried out - BTW the progress bars move VERY slowly, and can appear to freeze altogether for several minutes, but this is normal.

Go back and shoot the dealer, and never ever visit them again. That is complete and utter boll**ks! Their total lack of product knowledge means they cannot be trusted with your car.

You update the SW in ANY RNS-E of ANY age simply by inserting a newer map DVD, you can insert the latest 2009_1 DVD into a 2004 build RNS-E and it will update it and work just like a new 2009 RNS-E.
