AM looking at a '6 shortly, and the last Audi garage to service it confirmed it had a fault, although didn't go into the specifics, but did state it would require a new unit at c£1000.

Is there a common fault that requires a replacement unit?

If it does require replacement is there an alternative unit, to fit, that does the job, for less than that ?!

For that money I'd remove it and replace it with an RNS-E and new TV tuner.

What was wrong with it? Ive only heard of a couple of issues with the nav. GPS antennas go after a while but are aesily replaced, and they can overheat if the fans stop working. £1000 is a hell of alot.

I just removed one from a 2003 RS6 in perfect working order, I know the person with it would want to sell it. So I could put you in touch.
