RNS-E / Bose Automatic volume adjustment

Hi,

I have a B7 RS4, with RNS-E and Bose etc. Should the system automatically increase/decrease the volume according to speed/background noise? My last car did it (ford), and I am really noticing the fact that this car is definately not doing it. Its a pain continuously adjusting the radio, then the voice guidance when she speaks, then the phone when it rings up and down etc etc. :(

Ive had Bluetooth retro-fitted, and im wondering if that has upset the feature.

Thanks,
Ben

The Bose on your B7 RS4 has AudioPilot which should increase/decrease the volume according to background noise not just speed (that's important in an RS4!).

I would check the coding and adaptation values, and fault codes of your RNS-E.

Retrofitting the Bluetooth should not have affected the AudioPilot - unless someone made a coding error, or disturbed the Bose microphone (it uses a separate microphone to the Bluetooth and I'm wondering if someone just swapped the Bose microphone to use with your Bluetooth?).

Check the RNS-E is coded xx9xxx to tell it you have Bose, check also if adaptation channel 8 is set to 255 (to enable Bose), and also check that the Bose pin (B7) is grounded.

Thanks for the advice. CraigyB did the retro-fit and did a very good job (new mic was definately installed). I got tv-in-motion hack applied, which reset a load of settings, he did go through and reset some settings that got lost, so maybe he missed one. Need to get my hands on a vag-com to check.
