Speech Dialogue System for RNS-E

I have just had Craigyb enable the Speech Dialogue System for the RNS-E satnav on my B7 RS4. This was done with a CAN-gate controller to emulate a multi-function steering wheel and using a new S-button in the centre console to act as the PTT (push to talk) button. I also replaced the centre console to lose the ugly phone cradle that has never been used.

This is a fantastic upgrade. If you have ever been frustrated by the way you have to input addresses on the RNS-E, this is definitely the way to go. The unit is now completely speech controlled at the push of a button
It seems to be very good speech recognition software with instant pick up of any voice. You also get speech control for the radio & CD etc. It is one of those you just wish you had done sooner and all for a very reasonable price too. I am also very pleased to have a nice uncluttered centre console without the pointless cradle - why did Audi think this was necessary for a Bluetooth system?

Craigyb is a top bloke and I would recomend him to anyone who needs some OE ICE fettling on their Audi

If you have one of the (few) phones that Audi sell an adapter for then you get a much stronger signal (there's an amplifier and an external antenna). But since there's so few phones which you can get the adapter plate for, the cradle is a bit of a waste of time for the majority of people.
