Had my RNS-E unit replaced under warranty this week in my RS6 (took the dealer 3 days to do though) and now when my phone connects to it (bluetooth) i just get the bling sound but the unit says there is no phone connected, so i cannot dial or answer call with the unit, is this because they have not coded the unit correctly?? Also i no longer get the name of the road i am in on the display between the speedo and rev counter.
Any ideas would be helpful as losing confidence with dealers.
If the coding is incorrect is there anybody with access to VAG in the Sutton/surrey area
Thanks

SOunds like a spot of VAG-com will sort things but why not ask the dealer to the job correct in the first place@?

RE: New RNS-E issue
Hi Chris
As discussed at the weekend, they have not coded the RNS-E for phone kit when they swapped it. I suspect it is because the RS6 never came with bluetooth, so the VAS system doesn't have the correct adaptations for the phone systems like it would in the A3/A4/TT.
So basically you need the third digit from the right in the coding set to 7 as follows 0xxx7xx for the bluetooth system and a quick reset of the RNS-E to pick up the change.
As for the NAV system lagging behind, only two things I can think of, coding of the speed pulses in the RNS-E, this is an adaptation channel 02, values are 08 = A6, 43 = A3 and 45 = A4, so that needs to be checked, but it may just need to auto calibrate by running it for a while and the lag will dissappear.
