Wiring question

Post by Musar » Tue Apr 22, 2008 1:17 am

Hi folks,

I'm looking to run a cable from the engine bay into the glove compartment of my B7 RS4. I've not done this kind of thing before and I don't really know where to start. I also need a switched 12v supply from either inside the cabin or preferably the engine bay.

It's for a camera set up I'm working on. I'll be sure to post pics once I'm done as it's a pretty cheap set up.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Neil

Run it through the dash from the fuse box ... it's MUCH easier!!!

Cheers for the quick reply Dave.

I do need to run a couple of cables from engine bay as well though, as one of the cameras will be mounted in the front grill.

Any help appreciated,

Neil

The plan is to install one camera in the grill, one in the cabin and possibly one showing speedo and rev counter.

These will be fed into a video switcher (with picture in picture) and the output (main view from grill with the others inset) will be sent to both a hard drive recorder and also the RNS display. Also need to install a mic somewhere but I'll have to experiment to see where sounds best.

Should make for some good youtube vids!
