i-pod into standard head unit?

Post by chunky79 » Wed Mar 26, 2008 7:51 am

Hi people

I own a B6 S4 with the 6 disc changer head unit. I was wondering what i need to run an i-pod through it?
Does anyone know if there's an aux in on these?

Cheers

No Aux In - that's only on the newer II+ units.

Look at the Dension GW300 plus CD changer switch - that will keep your CD changer and let you connect your iPod.

Be aware though that whatever adapter you fit you will NOT see track names from your iPod, and that your iPod will appear a 6 "virtual" CDs (CD1..5 = first five playlists on your iPod, CD6 = everything on your iPod).

Didn't really explain myself very well in first post.
The head unit has the 6 disc changer built in. Does this make any difference mate?

Yes, just get the GW300.

You still won't get track names though and the iPod will still appear as 6 virtual CDs - no way round that.
