RNS-E in 2001 B6 A4

I retro fitted RNS-E into the wifes B6 Tdi and it all works fine etc but the DIS does not display Nav info all the time, ie. when the car is started with the RNS-E switched on or the unit is switched on and someone opens a door.

So if the car is started, all occupants are inside and doors shut and the unit is switched on, it displays perfectly. As soon as someone opens a door the DIS stops displaying correctly. The unit has to be switched on and off again to get the info back into the DIS.

Any ideas?
