"Crackly" speaker first thing in the morning.

Post by searider » Wed Feb 06, 2008 12:29 pm

Morning all,

I have an unusual problem with the stereo in my B5 S4.

For the first 20 minutes or so in the morning my front left hand side door speaker is crackly. For the rest of the day the stereo works fine with no distortion that would point to a damaged cone.

What do you think this could be?

I have the concert with Bose.

Cheers

Duncan

Could you have condensation inside the doorcard?

2Ohm speakers from JBL, 5.25" component set, you'll have to mount the crossover boxes in the lower dash to avoid water damage in the doors.

So,

Does anyone have a front left hand Bose speaker that's surplus to requirements?

Doug, I'm up with you having a re-map on 1st March - don't suppose you have a speaker kicking around do you?

Regards

Duncan

Must be something though, as I have this exact same problem in my RS4 too; the left front speaker as well - after 10mins mine goes away; though my speaker had blown...

I might try and investiate this weekend as it does my head in

...also should have mentioned that I have Sat Nav Plus + TV tuner, as opposed to BOSE Symphony Concert

thereis a plastic ring in there - see if it is touching the speaker
