I have just collected a RS4 with teh RNSE sat nav. I was hoping to be able to connect my Ipod to this and ditch the 6cd unit in the glove box. However it does not appear that I will be able to get the track lists on the head unit.
Can I have advice on the best way forwards?

There is no way to get tracks shown on the RNSE head unit. For that you would need the newer MMI system fitted to other models
Rather than ditch the cd unit, you could get a Dension 400 fitted, which allows you to switch between ipod and changer. Unfortunately the only control you have from the head unit is forwards, backwards etc - you select a playlist the same way you would select a CD, or set the ipod to shuffle
Craigyb did this for quite a few on the forums. He's based in Manchester and his website is tclsatnav.com
Another possibility (I think) is TDIAvant, who posts here

The only way to get track lists displayed is to use the SD cards - which take MP3 files and M3U playlists.

There is another option. Kufatec make a module which allows you to control a media player, which you can store music & video on. You would need the nav to be vim unlocked, if you wanted to control the device on the move.
On a side note the kufatec module will not control an IPod.

I've just been onto the Dension website and I can't see any reference to the Dension 400.
