speed sense wire, anyone DEF know which it is?

Post by Russboy » Tue Sep 11, 2007 7:13 pm

Read up a little bit on here what people have generally said that is the speed sense wire.

Did read that it was the blue and white wire on the orig brown plug for the headunit. So for my Pioneer Avic X1R I connected onto that by means of a scotch block. Thing is when I drove the car around on the settings menu you can see the calibration etc and it was not showing it was receving any signal plus the speed was coming up as zero.

Now the brown plug in queation only has 4 wires in it, thought it should have been more? Did recently fit a Parrot 3100 hands free so I ghave cables everywhere at the mo! Maybe got a multiplug mixed up, not 100% sure.

So from my pic with the crude red arrow is this def the right cable to tap into?

GALA/speed sensor is on pin 1 of connector 3. If that's your brown one then it's not connected.

Cheers, got the full wiring list for all Audi stereos and your right it is pin 1 of connector 3, the black connector on mine.

Had to reset the settings on my Avic X1R so that it went through its learning process again and now all is well!
