How powerfull is the bose

Anyone the output of the bose system in a b5 RS4,just curious so i buy suitably power rated new speakers,theres no point buying larger high power ones if the bose amp isnt up to the job

I think BOSE speakers have an odd impeadance, so be careful when upgrading speakers - just info I have read, so check it out.

Bose speakers are 2 ohms.

The spec I saw said 400W. So that would be "music power" making it a bit under 200W RMS, so 170W sounds good to me.

Thats pretty good i should be able to go up a bit in size when i replace the fronts with JBL 2 ohm units,thanks for your help and info guys

Got my eye on a couple of sets on ebay,but need to dig out my adapter plates and see what size they are,you kinda beat me to my next question,Has anyone done this already and what model sounded good? Im tempted to buy a couple of pairs as they arent expensive on fleabay and see which i prefer the sound of,unless anyone here can give any recomendations

anyone got some ICE upgrade advice please ??. Want to retain the BOSE amp and OEM look, so no bass bins etc in the boot !!!

You can use 2ohm or 4 ohm 5.5inch component system speakers with the adaptor plates for a straight swap,6.5 inch speakers will require door builds etc ,spend as much as you can afford as you generally get what you pay for but most speakers will outperform the original speakers.
