Dension ICElink gateway?

Help please

New to this, so please bear with me...

I have a sparkling RS4 with DVD SatNav, Bose Stereo upgrade and 6 Change CD player. But am not satisfied, as I also want to be able to play my 5G (Video) iPod through the car system.

The solution (it would appear to me...) it this Dension thingy that appears to do it all.

Anyone got any experiences good or bad? Or alternatives?

Also looking for an aftermarket Bluetooth phone kit (Audi won't fit one...), so advise here too?

Anything constructive gratefully received!

Thanks

Tim

I have an Icelink. It's not bad, but the icelink interface can be fiddly if you have lots of songs/albums (you have to put everything in playlists to get it to work well). Luckily there is an option in there to 'Use iPod User Interface', so if it's within reach of your hand, you can navigate the iPod as you are used to (the back one track and forward one track buttons work from the head unit still). That is what I find easiest... never did like playlists.
Unfortunately mine stopped charging my iPod a couple of day after the warranty ran out, so I have to take it in the house every few days to charge it.

Thanks Neil, which flavour have you got? I think the 300 will suffice, but the 500 is tempting :-)

Wow, I just checked the website, things have changed! I have the old fashioned 'plus' for my 4G iPod. That 500 does look good, but I haven't had a chance to use one.

500 will not work with an A3/A4, it only works with A6/A8/Q7

If you have a CD changer and want to keep it then use the Dension gateway 400 if you can get one. They are discontinued in favour of the 200 I think with a CD changer adaptor.
