Komfortblinker fitted today
Finally got round to fitting the audi komfortblinker today, works well, worth the £30 for any other lazy people out there!
Couldn't find it on the site with the search, so had to do a bit of research as there are various write ups on the web with different connections. I am sure someone else here must have done it.

Its an official VAG add-on to the VW / Audi range, audi part numbers etc.
It costs about £30 and fits in parallel with the indicator switch relay, it looks for a short operation of the indicator switch (flick the switch either left or right, don't push it far enough to lock on) then it carries on applying the turn signal for about 3-4 winks.
The idea is if you want to overtake you flick the stalk and it does the rest, very good once you start using it you wonder why you didn't fit it before! It is standard on many later cars.
There are 2 kits, one with the unit and 5 loose wires attached so you can fit it to any car.
and one with the connectors to fit it to an late VW/Audi with the facelift type Hazard relay switch.
I used the loose wire one, it is just the same, but means you have to crimp on to the existing wires to parallel up the 5 wires for the unit.
Loose wire type part no:- 000 998 229
Plug in type part no:- 000 998 229A
Both types are installed behind the hazard switch and need to be plugged into it or crimped to the wires.
Connections are....
Hazard sw end--------------------------Komfortblinker end
Bk/gn ------pin 2-----Switched live----------Bk/wh---pin 6
Brn----------pin 6-----0v-----------------------Brown---pin 4
Bk/wh/gn---pin 3-----Common (49a)------Wh/Gn---pin 8
Bk/wh-------pin 5-----Left (49L)-------------Wh-------pin 2
Bk/gn-------pin 7------Right (49R)-----------Gn-------pin 5
You need to remove the radio and upper facia cover (the one around the hazard switch and cup holder - just clips into place, lever off. Then lever out the hazard sw, the whole thing, not just the bit that moves when you turn it on, it just pushes in place, a small screwdriver either side should do it.
Then thread the wires up behind from the radio hole and up the hazard switch hole, crimp connections, pad the komfrtblinker so that it doesnt rattle and shove it down behind and below where the radio sits, there is plenty of room, replace radio, push in hazard sw and top part of facia, all done.
By the way, I don't see why it wouldn't fit to any car, any model and any make.

I drove a car with that and it does my head in, as I thank people for letting me out by momentarily indicating the wrong way and back the orgininal way like the truckers do..... I like to feel in control of the car and when the indicators carry on after you've told them to stop just didnt agree with me....
I guess it's just down to preferences.

I've got this on my Golf....have found it quite useful, but would prefer 4 or 5 flashes rather than 3!
