Replacing Antenna Diversity Switch....

Post by neily » Wed Jun 27, 2007 9:29 am

Just replacing this item as the previous owner of my RS4 B5 has managed to snap the circuit board where 1 of the ariel feeds go in.

The OEM replacement part has all new plugs/connectors which is good, however, not wanting to break the circuit board like the previous owner, how are these connectors attached ??? Are they a simple snap in ??

Dont want to break this one as at £110 a throw, it could be expensive....

any help (as always) is appreciated.... :D

IIRC they simply pull off and push on. They are famously fragile though, and can easily be broken, especially when sliding the cage with all the equipment back into the quarter panel.

Bast*rds to disconnect but simple snap on to refit. Sadly, I've got the tee-shirt.

Tell me about it Paul....

Finally managed to get the old connectors off. Refitting the new switch was as easy as Jordan....

LOL, but I wouldn't touch her with mine!

Glad you got it sorted though.

I repaired one that I did that to, fairly simple if you have the tiny spline shaft tool to remove the screws. A lot cheaper than buying a new one too. Soldering iron and super glue is all you need.
