Dietz 1212 - Help

I have purchased a dietz 1212 from ebay to fit to my RNS D Sat nav system in my 1999 Audi S4. I have wired in the power/earth and Aux on etc and the Sat nav recognises the Dietz is there as when I switch from CD/ RADIO / TV the tv option comes up.

However the on the TV option I just get scrolling black and white lines on screen, even when there in no dvd player connected to the dietz. I have tried switching the unit between PAL and NTSC by putting 12v to the brown wire and all this succeeds in doing is the line move faster or slower! The sound comes through fine from a dvd player and an sound is fine when an ipod is connected. Is this unit knackered or is there something I am missing? Do I need to use VAG com to change a setting on my Sat Nav or something?

Might be talking out my , but have you tried pressing the mode button to switch to AV mode?

Tried the mode button nothing happening? When I switch to navigation I get TV/Video in top right corner? Do I need to do something in VAG com to get the mode button to work?
