Bluetooth wiring loom

Post by Virdee Autos » Fri May 25, 2007 10:03 pm

Has anyone got the part number for the OEM Audi Bluetooth wiring loom?

I already have the B/T module, aerial, and microphone.

Just need the loom now.

Anyone care to help, or know where I can get one?

Just thought i'd update this as it may come in handy for someone else in the future.

There is no actual Original Audi BT wiring loom, or at least I couldn't source one, or find it on ETKA!!

There is the 54pin plug available from Audi for the BT module, along with some wiring connections, again from Audi.

Then you need to devise your own loom. There are only 10pins which are used out of the BT connector.

If you need any further info, then PM or leave a msg here. I have all the p/n's and I have it fully working on my B5 RS4.

RS33v, where did you place the module on the B5? I'm planning this soon, already have the RNS-E in.

Been wondering where the best place was?

I tried to place it underneath the pass. seat. But failed!!!

The carpet on the RS4 is well padded, and fit snug against the floorpan. So if i was to place it anywhere it would cause a bump. Plus after thinking about it now, it was probably a bad idea anyway, as any water ingress would fcuk up the unit! Common problems with the Passat, and Sharan.

I have actually placed it on the pass side, underneath the glovebox.

What I did was to take out the glovebox (around 5-6 8mm bolts), and then wire it all up as necessary, and then cut a foam piece and stuck it to the top of the unit. I then placed the unit on the mat area of the glovebox. This is right at the bottom, where the floor light is situated. And rests against the heater box.

Once you have the glovebox out, you'll see what i mean.

On installing the glovebox, place the unit on the glovebox mat, and then tighten the glovebox. You'll ideally need 2 hands to keep the BT unit in place, and to install the glovebox.

This way, there are no holes drilled, and on removal would make the car back to stock. The foam stuck on the unit is so that it doesn't rattle against the heater box.

Hope that helps, any more info, let me know

Cheers. Really helpful.

I think i'll have to take my glovebox out to fully understand, but will refer to this when I do.

Where did you put the mic?

Thanks again!

I got an OE mic from the new A4, and it clips in at the top where the interior light assy is. If you have a look at your light assy now, it has a mesh sort of area. This is where it is located.

You also need this connector piece, 8D0 972 643.

And also got the OE Audi BT antenna.

Will this work on the a "normal" S4 (B5)?

If you have an RNS-E unit, then I don't see why not.

www.navplus.us is a good starting point..
