i replaced my front standard doorcards with the bose fitted speaker ones, everything plugged in ok, but sounds really awful now :) if i fade to the rear its fine, fading to the front it gets all tinny and echoy, they arent out of phase though...... not sure if its the ohmage of the speakers, it did actually sound not half bad with the standard non bose speakers really.

Is there a setting with my headunit to allow these bose speakers to work properly on a non bose headunit, not really wanting to go out and buy some front speakers at the mo, no funds. :)
cheers!
Oli

i thought you needed the Bose amp as the impedence of the Bose speakers is only 2 ohms as opposed to 4 for the standard speakers

Yeah, it could be that, the 2 ohm bose speakers would be twice as hard for the amplifier to drive, but i would of thought it would do it fine, unless i really cranked it and turned the bass up :)

I hate to say it but you would have been better off with normal speakers, BOSE is a complete set up and even then if working from scratch you will get a much better sound from a aftermarket system than retrofitting BOSE.

Sell the Bose speakers and get some normal 4ohm components?

With any good component like focal you really need to amp them, this however is a completly different ball game!
