Wing mirror problem

Not on the RS but when the car goes into reverse the nearside mirror moves down.
That would be OK if it was to come back up when put back into "drive"
The weird thing is, while the nearsided mirrors going down, the drivers side is going up
Basicly, in reverse the nearside goes down, the driver side goes up but they don't reset.
Anyone able to point me in the right direction
This is on a range rover
TIA

do they both operate correctly when you operate the adjuster, i.e, they both go up when you press up and down when you press down

They work fine. infact everything works a treat.
Had cars in the past when the nearside mirror would look at the kerb when you put it in reverse but never had or heard of this problem.
Easy option i think is to set the mirrors and pull the fuse

then take it to someone who knows
Dave, you got an idea?

errrrrrr.....................that's about it, it says..........
getting fed up with the wing (although i reckon they're actually door) mirrors. helpfully they dip down so you can see the kerb when you select reverse but they never return to their original position so you have to reset them every bloody time. drives me mad - my research of RRS owners tells me it's not a common problem but i'd like to hear from you if you have encountered the same issue.
then there's an email address
rangerover.sport@bbc.co.uk
tight arses won't even pay for a dot com email address, lol
now go and buy your own copy, pmsl

hey, at least here you don't get sarcasm straight away, we wait a decent amount of posts before unleashing the big dogs.
although i must admit it's strange that you got a better response about an RR on an Audi forum than you did on an RR forum

You're right Dave, totally agree
Got the mirrors sorted today.
Basically I disengaged the auto mirror feature. This is a sequence that involves turning ignition on but not starting the engine, putting into reverse and then holding the memory button on the seat for 3 secs.
Job done with the help of Land Rover Service

i'm taking a wild stab in the dark and guessing you won't be sharing that with the land rover fraternity. did you get a reply from top gear?

So LR Service were able to tell you how to disengage the feature...but not how to fix it so that the mirrors return to the normal position, or infact both work together?

Dave.
I didn't email Top Gear but will now as i know the temp fix.
I also posted the answer on Pansyzone. com. More for the other owners that would be more greatful
Paul,
The fix is to reset or set the computer (I think). This needs to be done in the workshop.
The RR paid towards it's self today. One of my vans clutch cables snaped and used the RR to toe it back to the garage.
