where is the cd changer port?

Post by sevenfive » Fri Dec 15, 2006 11:31 pm

any ideas where i'd find the cd changer port/socket on an a4 avant 2006/concert?

i had the head unit out and it appears that the changer port on that back of that it prewired to somewhere in the vehicle - maybe the boot?

any prods in the right direction greatly appreciated...

On all B6 & B7 A4's the CD changer is fitted in the glovebox, so drop down the glovebox and look behind there for the cable.

I think you would notice the CD chnager if it was in trhe glove box and audi do not pre wire anything. Are you sure the CD pins are populatred on the 20 pin connector,

hi thanks

the 20 pin connector is definitely populated, the only spare slot in the back of the stereo is for the satnav i believe, which is a totally different shape.
petrol dave when you say dropdown the glove box - do you mean release the whole glovebox shell? how does this unclip?

Is the 20 pin fully populated? the CD changer uses half of this connector, can bus is in the middle and audio is 6 pins at one end.

To remove the glovebox, remove the 5x 8mm bolts, 2 underneath and 3 insid the lip, also remove the side trim before you do this.
