Factory telephone on B5 RS4

I have the factory fitted telephone on my B5 RS4 and the stereo mutes but nothing comes through the speakers. This is either in coming or out going calls. Any ideas?

I have had the back off and all cables seem ok. New cradle in the armrest also...........
