Headlight not working... but no warning on computer

Guys, 1 quick question (maybe 2!) if you don't mind...

My passenger headlight is not working - well, the xenon is fine, but the middle bulb has blown. BUT when I turn the car on I'm not getting a warning on the computer! Is this normal?

And interlinked to this question... When I press the check button the entire computer display dissapears. Surely that is not normal???

Like an idiot I drove all the way down the M1 with it not working (well my wife did anyway ;) ) Embarrassingly , it was my father-in-law who pointed it out... when I was showing off the car for the first time to him tonight

Not sure if bulb warning comes on when Headlight is blown. Id just check the bulb, its a 2 min job.

As for the display, thats normal, quickly press to turn on again.

Thanks Dr :)

I was gonna whip out the user manual tonight to check all was OK.

I'm sure on my S2 the bulb warning light came on - but I could be wrong!

No warning for full beam is normal

The button and the wiper stalk when pressed briefly turns the display off and on. When pressed continuously it resets the displayed feature.

The button by your clock when pressed when stationary will first show your service details (if facelift), the next press will make the DIS run through all of the warning symbols.

There is not a button that makes the DIS run through a check sequence, any warning will show automotically on the display.
