GALA/Speed Sensitive volume on Concert System

Hi

I picked up this function from another thread about hidden functions/things you never knew about.

Firstly, I thought speed sensitive volume was only on diesel cars :oops:

I have a 2001 S3 with a Concert system. I have turned the stereo off and turned back on holding 'TP', I get these options -

* TA; 1 to 5
* GALA; 0 to 5
* VOL; 1 to 5
* SENS; DX or LO
* RM; On or Off
* NAV; 1 to 5
* TEL; L or R

What do all these mean? Which settings do I need for speed sensitive volume?

Cheers,

Dave

Adjust the gala number, the higher the number the more the volume will increase with speed.

The other functions should all be in your manual, from memory

TA - traffic memory locations
Vol - volume for traffic anouncements
Nav - navigation settings
Tel - left or tight speaker for telephone.

GALA was on 3 to start with, so I put to zero = no difference, then 5 = no different.

How fast do you need to go, I went upto 60 and it didn't get any louder. Is it broke?

Traffic announcements are off, don't have navigation or telephone and my manuals are 80 miles away at my moms .....

I was unable to tell the difference with GALA. It's very sutble I think.

Handy to have a speed pulse in the DIN connection though!
