Sat Nav + problem - help please!

Post by GeoffC » Wed Sep 27, 2006 2:40 pm

When I go to TV on my 2000 S4 Sat Nav+, I get picture, but no sound, and a "mute" logo comes up for the first few seconds. How do I de-mute the TV. Sound is fine on radio & CD!

I think that this happens when the TV tuner is set for the wrong country/broadcast standard. Try going into the TV setup and fiddling with the settings.

Correct! Don't know how I managed to alter it, but it works fine now!
Thanks

Funny that Geoff, mine does the same thing. It goes into mute of it's own accord and I have to play around with the regional TV and audio settings to get it back.

Mine's gone again! Mute logo comes up, then goes off again, but no sound. I've altered the "picture" setting to the correct one, but the "audio" option doesn't seem to change anything. Any ideas anyone?

I had this problem when my 2003 S4 with TV tuner and RNS-D was delivered. Turned out the TV tuner was faulty and wasn't holding the country settings correctly in it's non-volatile memory.

Check if it remembers the country settings overnight - if it doesn't then you need a new TV tuner.
