TV in Motion & AV Input

Post by B5DOM » Tue Jul 04, 2006 11:45 pm

Is there a cable available for tv in motion in a s4 cab 2004?

The car has the Audi tv tuner installed and i want to hook up a dvd player to it, and the TV menu suggests that there are two av conections, where are they in the car? and do they require special cables?

Lastly if inputs to system are local to glovebox has anyone tried installing a din dvd player next to the changer in the glovebox? and will it fit?

Thanks

Dom

The tuner should be in the left hand panel in the boot under the CD changer, assuming its still in the same place in a cab, if you undo the mounting cage and lift it out the inputs are on the back of the tuner.

depends on the tv tuner type, there's a "B" and "non B" version, non B has the composite inputs that allow easy direct attachment. the non B requires (i believe) a dietz adapter to give you access to the inputs. see this article on nav-plus.com for more info

2004 A4/S4, only way to get TV in motion is with a Deitz 1280 adaptor to filter the speed pulse from the canbus. Fairly simple to fit, cost around 200 euros

Depending what NAV system you have D or E (CD or DVD) then the tuners are B or C revisions (Non B was very early around 2001). The B & C have identical connectors and use the same adaptor for the AV inputs. These cost around 30 euros for 2 inputs.
