Just got mine and despite reading all the handbook and fiddling for hours it is obvious that the 2006 q1 software supplied DOESN'T work. Anyone got a later disk as I made dealer PROMISE it would work or he would get an upgrade when it was available, and it would help to know if it was available!

No B7 will have working TMC yet, only A6 & A8 models have working TMC. A new disk will be required and you should push your dealer to supply that for free if he has promised a working system.

The latest disk for your car is 2006_1 (SW version 460) but this does not have TMC.

I understand that all of the A4 range, from this autumn onwards, will have an MMI system similar to current A6 and A8 ranges. I suspect that this means that the Nav system will be using the A6/A8 software/data and will, therefore, have TMC functionality.

This will leave the A3 model range as the only RNS-E fitment (and for how long?). This will rather remove the incentive for Audi to get TMC working on the RNS-E!

Thank you for your correspondence regarding TMC for your Audi RS4.

so in fact any cars delivered after this time and ordered with Satnav won't have the RNS-E fitted at all but an updated MMI style unit?

Apart from TMC what are the advantages?

As far as the Navigation functionality goes, apart from the availability of TMC tables for the UK, I believe that the RNS-E is better than the newer MMI systems.

I'm assuming that this is still equipped with RNS-E, rather than being one of the new models with revised dash and A6/A8-style MMI built in.

I'll be interested to see whether they're successful in getting an update installed which gives TMC functionality in the UK. I'm not aware of the RNS-E DVD with UK TMC being available yet. My suspicion is that they're confusing your Nav with that installed in the A6/A8.

And yet customer service phoned yesterday when I emailed about this thread and they said there is NO upgrade for the B7 A4 range - just the A6. I'll believe it when i see it!

Because it's almost certainly the A6/A8 disc that they're offering.
