SD Card slots

Is there any clever boffins that could perhaps explain in lamens terms how to get SD cards to play MP3 in the RNS-E?

I have tried various methods via iTines, at 192kbps. I put a single song on the card to try it, and it played no problem. Then.... I put 20 or so more on the card (plenty of space left on 256meg card) and despite showing all the tracks, none of them play. The counter just reads 00:00 and nothing happends...

Any ideas? Very frustrating especially if one track works!

Are you encoding in MP3 and not the standard AAC in iTunes?

I have just loaded up a 2GB Kingston SD Card and it is working fine it takes forever to recode your files into mp3 from AAC, I am using 128 and the quality is perfect for the car and uses about 30% less than 192. The only limit I have been told is 512 files per card? and a file can either be a folder or a track

Thanks - by that it should work...?

all my songs in itunes are MP3, not AAC. Funnily enough I've just bought a Kingston 1gb card so I'll try that! Just couldn't work out why one song plays but when I add a bunch more nothing happends. I fiddle some more.

all my songs in itunes are MP3, not AAC. Funnily enough II have created all the albumns in folders with the tracks contained within

ie folder Coldplay - X&Y
the tracks within and so on

I did have a temp issue with mine that nothing would play but it seemed to miraculously cure itself when I ejected the card and put a blank in the slot then put the one with the tracks back in

I did experience a similar problem with one of my cards - with a couple of tracks it was fine, so I went ahead and filled the card just to find that it would no longer play. In the end I reformatted the card and put all the files back and it has been fine since.

thanks, I thought that would be worth trying. How do you re-format them by the way?
