I may not have read the book properly, nor fiddled with enough options, but I cannot sem to programme the Sat Nav to do either of the following:
(a) Show the road names on the closest Zoom settings. Just shows my position on a grid style map with no road names.
(b) Show car's progress on the map as I move. It does show road name I am on, but only in dash computer display.
First time with an integrated SatNav and am comparing with telephone based Tom Tom system which had both features.

a) Not all road names are displayed on the screen, but current street is shown on the DIS.
b) The map moves, the car position stays still

Yup, SatNav+ LCD display is quite basic compared to other systems. It's advantage is it's OEM look and integration with the DIS, making it safer (whilst still having an OEM look). Also don't forget that it's quite old now.

From my experience it will take you a while to get used to over TomTom.
TomTom is a far better system, so much so im even thinking of putting my old TomTom system in my S4, mainly due to the satnav plus not telling me where to go correctly (telling me to stay on current road when i should have turned off) and the big factor - having speed camera locations.
I also iss the full 7 digit postcode look up on TomTom
