Hi guys,

Done a search on installing a Phatbox - but just want to have some clarification if possible please :)

Have just purchased a B6 S4 Avant with SatNav+ (TV), 6 Disk CD in glove box and Bose sound.

If i want to install a Phatbox is it just a case of pulling out the CD changer in the glove box and putting the Phatbox in its place ? will i need to do any cutting to fit the Phatbox in.

How easy a job is this ? and is the Phatbox fully compatible with the SatNav+ with Bose ?

Cheers.

The Phatbox emulates a CD changer so electrically it is a simple swap (so yes, it is fully compatible with SatNav+ and Bose). However physically it is a totally different matter. The Audi Phatbox came out during the B5 era, and it is the same shape as the CD changer mounted in the rear. However even that does not fit properly because the damn cartridge sticks out too far! So I have no doubt that you will need to be creative with your install. I will be amazed if it fits in place of the glovebox changer.
