Cat 1 alarm or Tracker

Post by S4Jem » Tue Dec 13, 2005 9:09 pm

Hi Gents,

I am a returning B5 S4 owner (hopefully pick it up the beaut this weekend) and need a bit of advice....

My first S4 was stolen off the driveway after my keys were nicked out of my golf bag. Never recovered and insurance company settled.

Bought a BMW 540i (couldn't wait for a minted S4), however, my house was broken into recently and the car stolen. Fortunately or unfortunately the police found the car undamaged, but minus golf clubs. As the feckers now have a key and i do not want to stump up for new locks etc, the car is now secure somewhere awaiting a private buyer.

In order to secure the car fully, ie, some fecker breaking into the house and nicking the keys again, would it be better to fit a top of the range alarm or have a tracker fitted?.

Having the tracker fitted means that if they do find the car then i am left in the same situation as with the BMW. If I have a cat 1 alarm fitted, will this stop the car being stolen even though they have the car keys?

Any advice will be appreciated.

Cheers
Jem
