Fitting extra sub to bose in RS4.

Post by >RS4< » Sun Nov 20, 2005 2:30 pm

I'd like to fit an extra sub( with an extra amp) into the RS's spare wheel.

Where do i get the line signal for the amp?

any help would be appreciated.

the rs4 bose sound is rubbish isnt it..

the signal line runs to the rear right cubby hole apparently where the bose amp lives.

im about to build a custom sub enclosure to fit in the left cubby hole and run a 5 channel alpine amp in the right cubby hole from the original bose signal feeds.

ill then change the door speakers for front 5.25 components and 6.5 rear coaxials and turn off the bose in the head unit.

andymac already did this for the b6 and apparently its mostly the same for the b5.

I believe Tomson has done something like this in his with some Alpine gear I think. He has something fitted into the spare wheel space with a false floor above to give a bit more clearance. Not sure what's underneath but I can tell you the sound is awesome.

Indeed, first thing i had done was the tunes, as lets face it the Bose stuff is just not that great. I have a custome built Genesis amp that is called 'Nukes' basically three genesis amps in one custom made face and kicks out 1.2KW RMS from the Monoblock.

Certainly adds a punch to the bass!!

Of course I also have a neon.....

Okay okay okay, I really appreciate your input but all i want is to get a little extra bass.

What i need is a way to get the line in from the bose amp to my amp for the sub....

the rest is no problem.
