One of the issues with adding the RNS-E nav system to a B5 S4/A4 is that the RNS-E expects to get a time signal from the CAN. This causes the time display and arrival time during navigation to be wildly off.
I read a post regarding getting video while in motion working where someone said that building a CAN device that is not that hard. What is needed is a device that would plug into the CAN wires in-line and respond to time requests. Is that something that anyone here has any idea of how to do?

BUT .... I would like to know when the CAN bus became available in the S4 - was it when they introduced the digital clcok, or is it in all of them, including the retro
(analogue) clock versions (which happened after the facelift in 99 BTW)??
