I have been looking into updating my teleatlas cd on my satnav plus in the RS4. I checked out the hardware on the system and its telling me I've got hardware version 4.1 (dispite the car being built in 2000).
Does this mean that it will have the TMC box fitted as standard? Are all RS4's the same in that they all have hardware version 4.1? I dont want to spend the extra money on a TMC enabled disc only to find out it wont work!
I have tried doing a search on the topic but have been unable to find the answer...
Do all RS4's have TMC as standard?

if you have rns-4 and nav directions on the DIS, then you already have the tmc installed - the tmc is also the CAN gateway between the navi unit and the dis so it needs to be there to see directions on the DIS

Although there is a rumour about that Audi did make some CAN Gateways without the TMC function...

Ok I guess the easiest way is to find someone with a TMC disc and try it out.
